What Happens During a Visit

- Dress comfortably. During treatment you will most likely remain clothed.

- Your visit will begin like most doctors' appointments, with a thorough interview covering your medical and surgical histories, allergies, medication use, family history, social history (diet, nutrition, rest, exercise, occupation and marital status), travel history, and other pertinent information.

- Next, a physical examination is performed on the head, heart, lungs, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities.

- A "palpatory examination" applying a light to medium touch is done to check for abnormalities and helps to diagnose illness or injury. The findings of the examination are used during treatment to gently encourage your body to return to optimal health.

- Results vary from patient to patient. For many, a progressive clearing and alleviation of the initial health complaint occurs.

- Side effects of the treatment may involve deep relaxation, a feeling of whole-being balance, alleviation or improvement of symptoms, a surge of energy, and shorter recovery times.

- Kaua`i Osteopathic, Inc. accepts Visa, MasterCard, travelers' checks, personal checks, and cash. We ask that all fees be paid on the day of your visit.

- Kaua`i Osteopathic, Inc. will give you a receipt for insurance purposes and if necessary, help you file your insurance claim.
